Big Bad Mama Bear

Monday I taught Yoga. I came home and Pedro said, "Jake bit Mason."

"What? Hard? Did he cry? What did you do? Did you bring him in the house?"

"Yes, yes, I brought him in the house."

"Mason, come here. Can I see your arm?"

After seeing his arm, I had to use all restraint I had not to march over and make sure that little boy knew that biting is never acceptable. I was fuming!

I am not sure why this is bothering me so much. I don't think I am totally unrealistic. I mean, kids slap, hit, push ( mine included), and I am well aware that many, many kids bite. I can't figure out why this has me so bothered? I am sure it doesn't help that we are at day 3 post-bite and there is still a perfect bruise of a 3 year-olds dental records on my sons arm. Gah! I can't get over it, Why?

oh, that would get me fuming, too! I think it's harder to get over when (a) you aren't involved in the incident and (b) you have no closure from it. Hang in there, friend, it will ease up as the mark disappears.

I don't know why some kids bite and some don't..my step son NEVER bit..he did get bit once. His baby sister..bites ALL the time. Her mom is getting calls from daycare every week.

It WILL be OK. I'm sure the parents are very frustrated, make sure they know!

That's tough! And bites leave nasty marks. I think that is what makes it so much more difficult than hitting or pushing. Jack is a biter, but fortunately he has only bitten his sister (and, honestly, she probably deserves it!).
